Walker-Friendly Home Planner
Walk through the routes, rooms, thresholds, and everyday tasks that matter most and see where the home may need to work differently for someone using a walker.
Start with the routes the person actually uses.
You do not need to know whether the answer is moving furniture, removing a rug, changing a threshold, modifying a doorway, or getting professional input. Tell the Planner what you are noticing.
About this Walker-Friendly Home Planner
Caregiver Compass™ Walker-Friendly Home Planner is an educational and organizational tool. It reviews the home environment around walker use. It does not prescribe a mobility device, teach gait or transfer technique, determine walker height, diagnose fall risk, or replace individualized clinical or rehabilitation guidance.
The environmental review reflects common older-adult home-safety themes from the CDC and National Institute on Aging, including clear walking paths, removing trip hazards, adequate lighting, bathroom support, secure railings, and considering entrance changes when a walker or wheelchair is needed.
