Home Safety Quick Check
Walk through common areas of the home, notice what may deserve a closer look, and get practical next steps based on what you see today.
You do not need to inspect the whole house at once.
Answer a few plain-language questions about the rooms, routes, and routines your loved one uses now. “Not sure” is always a valid answer.
About this Quick Check
Caregiver Compass™ Home Safety Quick Check is an educational and organizational tool. It is not a medical evaluation, clinical fall-risk assessment, occupational or physical therapy assessment, engineering or construction evaluation, accessibility certification, building-code review, or determination that a home is safe.
The question areas reflect common home-safety topics found in older-adult home-safety guidance, including walking paths, floors, stairs, bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchens, lighting, entrances, emergency readiness, and changing needs.
