After-a-Fall Home Safety Review
Retrace the home environment around a recent fall, notice what may deserve another look, and organize practical next steps for the rooms and routes your loved one uses now.
A fall is a reason to review the home again.
Use this tool to look at the route, room, lighting, surfaces, supports, and mobility setup around a recent fall. It helps organize environmental observations — not diagnose why the fall happened.
About this After-a-Fall Review
Caregiver Compass™ After-a-Fall Home Safety Review is an educational and organizational tool. It does not determine the cause of a fall, diagnose fall risk, evaluate an injury, prescribe medical care, interpret medication effects, or determine whether a home is safe.
The environmental review is informed by older-adult fall-prevention guidance from the CDC and National Institute on Aging, including clear walking paths, secure railings, good lighting, bathroom support, nonslip surfaces, and reevaluating the home when needs change.
